Minds Edge going to once a week

I've set a goal of making at least one post a week from this point on,
so a much more regular update schedule can be expected from now on as I
feel that I can handle one measly post a week right? We'll see i guess.

Pentagon sets its eyes on social networking

This page went around for a while before I relized that it need to become common knowledge to anyone who uses social networking sites, so forgive the repost but it needs to be reposted as much as possible in my opinion.

New Scientist - Pentagon sets its sights on social networking websites

New Scientist has discovered that Pentagon's National Security Agency, which specialises in eavesdropping and code-breaking, is funding research into the mass harvesting of the information that people post about themselves on social networks. And it could harness advances in internet technology - specifically the forthcoming "semantic web" championed by the web standards organisation W3C - to combine data from social networking websites with details such as banking, retail and property records, allowing the NSA to build extensive, all-embracing personal profiles of individuals.

Talk about haveing fun, but be warned, the site does log IP adresses, so before you go galloping off to the closest online shoping site think about the possibility of them tracking your IP and sending a polite email to your ISP.
